About me

Hi and welcome to Zen Dogs, I'm Rachael. I am a canine behaviour practitioner (ISCPDip.Canine.Prac). I have always been a big animal lover with a special soft spot for dogs and my french bulldog X pug Reggie gave me the push to persue my passion. He has struggled with his own behaviour problems, including reactivity and separation anxiety. I know how difficult and challenging this can be. I can empathise with anyone facing similar struggles. I also know that with the right behaviour modification programme and approach, one with kindness, understanding and patience a struggling dog can overcome their fears and live a happy stress free life, as can you!

I studied with the International School of Canine Psychology and Behaviour, where I gained my level 5 diploma with distinction. I chose to study with them for their up to date and ethical force free approach.

Also a member of The National Institute For Canine Ethics and The Pet Professional Guild.

I am always studying and continuing my professional development. Not only because I absolutely love it but to provide my clients and their dogs the best I can. There is always something new to learn. I am a bit of a dog geek!.

There are no quick fixes when it comes to behaviour. We're dealing with sentient beings with emotions. Having to dissect to get to the route cause of the underlying feelings which are causing the behaviours. The displayed behaviours are not the problem, but a symptom of a problem.

Like us, dogs are unique and individuals. I offer tailored training and behaviour plans to suit each dog. This may mean plans need to be tweaked as we progress. Your dogs needs and welfare will always come first and I will support you along the way too.

I want to help build the trust and bond between you and your dog. This is not only a solid foundation but is rewarding, resulting in a dog that WANTS to work with you.
